Everyone loves to talk about 'real' dogs and 'real street bites.'  There are always a myriad and multitude of factors is every engagement that effect the way the dog does his job.  EVERYONE focuses on the "out."  Every certification on the planet requires a verbal out.  You say "Dog!!!! OUT!" and dog spits out the decoy.  Easy peasy.  About that... in actual engagements dogs are not outed this way again, for a myriad and multitude of reasons.   We hard out, lift off, break out, choke off whatever you to call it.  We force the dog to out when he's is under control of the handler.  Being under control means he can't reengage the now pissed off suspect and more importantly, can't nab a backing officer.  A lot of dog's 'outs' will go to.... none-outs after they've been in a fight.  Sometimes a lift off isn't enough.  We've all seen the video from a helicopter where a PSD had to, literally, be cut off a suspect after a vehicle extraction.  I have no doubt the handler was screaming "OUTTTTTTTT!" but he wasn't having it and he wasn't having it in front of every plaintiff's attorney in the county... on live TV.

Having the K9 Break Stick on your belt means you can get just about any dog off of any person in a quick fashion without the risk of non compliance or re-engagement.  Made from stainless steel it should last years and wont tear teeth up.  This should go without saying but, I'll say it anyway; This thing is a tool and just like any tool, proper use and care is needed when employing it.  Be careful, learn how to use it correctly.

*UPDATE*  The boys over at our sister company issue these to all their dual purpose handlers in their handlers course and started writing them into their training manuals.  They get used a lot over there.  Once these break in they are butter smooth since they have fancy ball bearings in them.  With normal use the little bolt may come loose and fall out.  If that happend you can use an M3x6mm bolt from Fasten-All, send us an email and we'll send you one.  If you catch it in time back that mofo out and blue loc-tite it.  When you crank it down don't crank it down.  We want these to be smooooottttthhhher than Sean Connery's pick up lines.  If you crank it down they be about as free as your old decoys shoulder joint.  Get is snug~ish, test, adjust about an 1/8 of a turn at a time.  Don't use the Red.  Use the blue or the purple.  If you use Red it'll be there forever, you'll strip the wee screw and you'll be screwed.
